Get Ready to Shop Local at Downtown San Antonio's OPEN Holiday Market

Ready or not, the season of gifting is once again upon us. And whether your personal shopping list covers dozens of family members and friends both naughty and nice or stops abruptly at an office-enforced Secret Santa, keep in mind San Antonio’s many artisan fairs and locally focused initiatives such as the OPEN Holiday Market.

Representing a collaboration between property owners, homegrown retailers and San Antonio’s Center City Development and Operations Department, the seasonal favorite activates dormant downtown storefronts with pop-ups “encouraging the community to shop locally.” Although previously scattered between various outposts downtown, this year’s edition of OPEN promises a user-friendly browsing experience at one address populated by more than a dozen participating vendors offering vintage and modern duds (Bohemian Gemme, Flor Boutique, J Lacel Boutique, Red Cat & Co.), jewelry and accessories (Lirica, Love Art Style, Lulo Texas), not to mention chocolatey confections from Hernan, cruelty-free skincare via Honeydipped Cosmetics and one-of-a-kind pieces from Marta Francine, Meechi Ceramics and DiZurita.

Free, noon-8pm Fri Dec. 7-Sat Dec. 8, 1-7pm Sun Dec. 8 through Dec. 16, 231 E. Houston St., (210) 207-3914,
