Get Thirsty: Billy Idol Is Coming Back To San Antonio

  • Courtesy

Arena-punk leather daddy Billy Idol is returning to San Antonio. The '80s bad boy will be at the Tobin Center on Tuesday, September 25 as an extension of his Live! 2018 Tour Idol and we're already online shopping for leather pants.

While the Sex Pistols induced riots here back in '78, Idol will most likely provoke the audience to dance with themselves, but there's nothing wrong with embracing the corporate side of punk rock. Often abandoning the rebellious genre's characteristic DIY ethics, Idol opted for crystal clear production and catchy new wave songwriting, leading to his superstar status.

And I mean, who can blame him for adopting the aesthetic? Who doesn’t like a little sparkle to balance out the grit?

As a fashion icon, Idol rocked the spiked frosted hair-do, snarl mastered-to-perfection, and studded leather, all supported by his muscular body and chiseled features.

*thirst intensifies*
