NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AUSTIN-SAN ANTONIO

Texas Thanksgiving travelers take note, there could be stormy weather through large swaths of the Lone Star State.

According to the kind folks who spend 24 hours a day watching weather, a storm system may move in Thanksgiving night through Saturday night.

If you're heading north toward the Panhandle, watch out for the potential of snow and icy conditions.

If you're staying closer to home, watch out for potential flooding in the northern and central parts of Texas, along with locally heavy rainfall.

Rainfall totals from Thursday through Sunday could average 1 to 3 inches, with 6 inches possible in isolated pockets — particularly over the Hill Country and Central Texas.
