How Krispy Kreme Suckered Me In With Ghostbusters Donuts

Because I have a stomach, two eyes and a heart that's a sucker for nostalgia, I, like many other Slimer fans, was excited when Krispy Kreme announced limited edition Ghostbusters donuts a few days ago.

So my street cred (or what little I have, let's be honest) took a hit, as I bit the chain bullet and headed up I-10 (and basically Mordor since it's so far from our office) to visit one of two KK locations in town. Here's how some of the trip went.

First off, it took 15 minutes to get there. Thank goodness for a speedy driver and little to no traffic. Don't be fooled by the lit Hot Donuts sign, the crew was fixing it. :(

You gotta hand it to their marketing folks, Krispy Kreme was decked out with all manners of Ghostbuster favorites....

Of course Stay Puft made an appearance :D

The display case was a bit out of control. Lots of stimuli considering KK is pimping out Ghostbusters, two pumpkin flavors, Halloween-themed (yes, separate from the movie) AND their regular line up. Too many options make Jessica go something something.

Anyway, here they are. Not totally different from the promo art.

The packaging was also pretty cute...

A closer look at the goodies. Fair warning, Stay Puft's hat and the Ghost logo are just pure sugar. Eat those at your own risk. Otherwise, the donuts are filled with marshmallow Kreme...because anything else would be blasphemy (unless it was green custard in honor of Slimer)!

Oh, and the original flick plays on loop at the counter! ZUUL, you guys!

Because I'm a great co-worker, I brought back a dozen to the office. Well 11, and no hats 'cause hats are for nerds.
