The University of Texas Longhorn Band may have been in the land of jazz during the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans on Monday, but their half-time show included a bit of South Texas.

College football fans got to do the washing machine during UT's half-time show, which included Selena's "Como La Flor." The performance included a musical arrangement of the Tejano song along with the band members forming on the field to spell out Selena's iconic signature. You can watch the clip here.

UT Associate Director of Bands Scott Hanna said the Selena spotlight was decided based on student feedback.

"We liked the idea of taking a part of home with us and showing everyone what we are about," Hanna said.
