- Facebook, Wilco
After nearly 25 years in the business, Wilco, everybody’s favorite inventive-Americana/indie rock band, is at the top of its game. While some fans, myself included, felt the band’s output wavered a bit in quality over the three albums that followed up 2004’s masterpiece A Ghost is Born, 2015’s Star Wars and 2016’s Shmilco have found Jeff Tweedy and company looser, more playful, and as satisfying as ever.
In the live setting, Wilco never fails.
Despite the complexity of so much of the band’s music, the stalwart six-piece has always possessed an uncanny knack for pulling off renditions of its songs that meet (and often exceed) the high standards set by the album versions. On Monday night, fans can expect an epic, career-spanning show.
