Innovation Sprouts at Local Nonprofits


After months of preparation, a local group of organizers brought TEDx San Antonio to fruition at Trinity University's Stieren Theater this past weekend. With the theme "Planting New Ideas," 16 diverse speakers invigorated the hand-picked audience by presenting ground-breaking ideas cultivated to change the world.

Nonprofits are not often viewed as hotbeds of innovation. However, the seeds of creativity are alive and well. From a desire to identify and support programs that work to address our most pressing social challenges, many nonprofits have developed inventive and resourceful ways to grow better communities. In San Antonio, nonprofits of all sizes are fertile ground for new ideas to more effectively serve their clients.

In the beautiful, tree-filled courtyard at Trinity, the following local organizations, known for being innovators in the nonprofit field, were invited to share information about their  programs.  Solar San AntonioHaven for HopeGreenspaces AllianceVoices for ChildrenSan Anto Cultural Arts,
