Kevin Kosub and the Blacktears

When: Sun., Jan. 6, 3 p.m. 2019

Fronted by San Antonio character, label executive and curator of the Sir Douglas Museum — a shrine to legendary Tex-Mex innovator Doug Sahm — Kevin Kosub and his Blacktears are way more than good ol’ boys playing square dance music for the heavily intoxicated. Notable for a cover of “Deep in the Heart of Texas” that’s so heavy with the drug references, it could’ve been penned by Hunter S. Thompson, the Blacktears are possibly too rowdy for the traditional two-step, and that’s the way we like it.
