Les Dames d'Escoffier-SA Announces Scholarship Recipients




The group awarded $22,000 in scholarships.

The San Antonio chapter of the Les Dames d'Escoffier, an international organization for female leaders in food, beverage and hospitality whose mission is education and philanthropy, awarded $22,000 in scholarships for female culinary and hospitality students.

The recipients include:

  • “Lenny Angel” Scholarship for $5,000: Emily Madeline Thompson, Johnson and Wales University
  • “Viola B. Barrios” Scholarship for $5,000: Bianca Valero, The Culinary Institute of America, San Antonio
  • “Saundra Winokur & Cathy Tarasovic” Agriculture Scholarship for $5,000: Joslyn Christine Elswood, Texas A&M University, College Station
  • “Les Dames d’Escoffier” Scholarship for up to $5,000: Alexis Sarah Quiroga, St. Philip’s College, San Antonio
  • “Les Dames d’Escoffier” Scholarship for $1,000: Kimberly Chavez, St. Philip’s College, San Antonio
  • “Les Dames d’Escoffier” Scholarship for $1,000: Sarah Marie Ramirez, St. Philip’s College, San Antonio
