The Macondo Signature Reading Series at the Guadalupe aims to bring writers to San Antonio to share and honor contemporary voices, offer master classes and preserve traditional and contemporary Chicano, Latino and Native American arts and culture. Join for a reading a book signing with Natalie Diaz, author of When My Brother Was an Aztec. Both Native American (Mojave and Pima Tribes) and Spanish, Diaz builds upon a root embedded in myth, exposing, with grace, the inheritance and truths of a complex social and personal history. When My Brother Was an Aztec, called "beautiful by the New York Times Book Review, blends questions of identity and belonging against the background of Diaz’s reservation upbringing.
