On Saturday, August 27, 2011, Macy’s hosts their 6th annual “Shop for a Cause” charity shopping event. It’s a unique one-day-only shopping event created to support local charities’ fundraising efforts.  Shop for a Cause has raised more than $38 million for local charities across the country since 2006.

By purchasing a $5 shopping pass to the event, customers support their favorite causes and receive 25% off most regular, sale and clearance purchases at the store or online all day. Some exclusions apply, see shopping pass for complete details. Customers who want to purchase a ticket to benefit a specific non-profit organization can look up participating charities on Macy's Shop for a Cause. 100% of the proceeds from the ticket sales will benefit the individual charity selling the tickets.

Shop for a Cause passes sold at all Macy’s stores beginning August 20 through August 27, 2011, and at Macys.com on August 27, 2011, will benefit the March of Dimes. The March of Dimes, the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health, is the exclusive national beneficiary of this year’s event.
