Mercados de O’liva, the open-air farmers and artisan markets that take place twice a month from March to November, are back! “What we’re really excited about this year is that thanks to a USDA grant, people with Lone Star cards are now able to buy fresh, local produce with their cards. Farmers markets are for everyone,” said owner, Chef Chuck Hernandez, who also owns and operates O’liva restaurant downtown. Besides a mix of fresh, healthy, artisan foods and wares, educational components such as chef demos, and delicious hand-crafted refreshments, people can enjoy free tours of the Spanish Governor’s Palace.
