Crooning lush Appalachian harmonies like the best of them – think Mumford and Sons or Fleet Foxes, here – Mighty Brother is steeped in the life-affirming attitude that courses through NOLA’s French Quarter. The folky band teases some coffeehouse sensitivity in chiming choruses like “save your sleepless soliloquy,” but cranks up the volume enough in their acoustic ballads to warrant stage time in traditional rock venues. Fresh out of the recording studio, eight-piece group Invision Love shares the stage with Mighty Brother, writing wobbling beats into brassy orchestral numbers. The Hollow Ends (a spooky crew of St. Louis rockers) draw the red curtain on the night with heaps of swelling “oohs” and “aahs.” It’s the perfect musical mix for lovers of everything indie.
