Maker Faire, billed as the “greatest show (and tell) on Earth,” is a celebration of maker culture and ingenuity. Maker culture, a term denoting a wide swath of new-age inventors and tinkerers who often specialize in robotics, 3D printing and various electronics, has exploded since the mid-2000s. The original Maker Faire event was held in San Mateo, California, and, in 2014, celebrated its ninth annual show with some 1,100 makers and 130,000 people in attendance. Now, all you San Antonio inventors, amateur engineers and technology-based seekers can get in on the action.
