For those horror geeks who can’t wait another month for Halloween to roll around, the fifth annual Monster Con is sure to satisfy those insatiable craving for delicious human braaaaaains this weekend. This year’s celebrity draws are Paul T. Taylor, who makes his debut as the iconic horror movie villain Pinhead in 2017’s straight-to-video sequel Hellraiser: Judgement, Robert Allen Mukes (House of 1,000 Corpses) and Parrish Randall (Circus of the Dead). “At Monster-Con, you can enjoy the memories of trick-or-treating as a child or experience the thrills from things that go bump in the night,” Lori Gonzales, Monster Con promoter, told the Current. “It’s a great way for all family members, young and old, to enjoy the start of the Halloween season.” Along with the horror talent on scene, the free convention will feature a Scream Queens costume contest Saturday night (7-8pm) for attendees who pre-register for one of the 20 spots available, an El Cucuy Art Walk where over 100 artists and handcraft vendors will be slinging their merch (Pennywise portraits are sure to be profitable) and a Zombie Beauty Pageant for those undead lookers who never have anywhere to go to show off their blood-soaked evening gowns.
