Mozart's 40th Symphony

When: Fri., Jan. 6, 8 p.m. and Sat., Jan. 7, 8 p.m. 2017

The San Antonio Symphony's Sebastian Lang-Lessing continues his remarkable composer-focused festivals with the greatest genius of classical music—Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The Mozart Festival’s first concert features his penultimate symphony and one of only two written in a minor key. It has been called “a work of passion, violence, and grief.” Mozart’s symphony and his strikingly reverent Ave verum corpus join the beautiful Requiem by Fauré to complete this performance.
