Fresh off the success of the over-the-top, dazzling and surreal “Yachting with the Kennedys” show at SAMA, conceptual composer and renegade choir director Nathan Felix brings his gang of co-conspirators and his six-sided keyboard to the Linda Pace Foundation’s Chris Park. Those who have had the opportunity to attend one of Felix’s events over the past few years will know him as a special, provocative talent and, as such, need no convincing to attend this outdoor engagement. For those unfamiliar, Felix, who won the Artist Foundation’s Tobin Prize for Artistic Excellence People’s Choice Award earlier this year, is a kind of mad genius when it comes to staging unconventional classical music performances in non-traditional spaces and pulling it all off with a winking aplomb. With Felix, each performance is as unique and engrossing as the last. The one-off performance will activate both Chris Park and the onsite Studio (formerly Space), giving attendees the opportunity to meander, if they choose, into the gallery to check out the ongoing exhibit “Reclaimed.” Free refreshments will be available, to include Gem & Bolt Mezcal, local craft beer from Highwheel, and food from Box Street Social.
