Music Journalists Wanted

If you can name this guy, you've already cleared round 1 of our hiring process

Honestly, there's likely never been a better time to be an aspiring music critic in San Antonio. The local scene is teeming with new and veteran acts, national tours are finally making our city a priority, there's lots of worthy competition from other music-focused media outlets and a slew of new venues to check out.

If that sounds exciting to you, consider applying to be the Current's next music editor.

The ideal candidate is an experienced journalist who stays out late attending shows and talking to bands, writes fast and with style on a wide variety of music for both blogs and print stories, and assigns and delivers quality freelance work. Also required is an editor’s eye for grammar and spelling. Desired, but not required, is the interest and ability to cover film, television and video games for our screens section.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits, a flexible work schedule and the opportunity to take the lead on our annual music issue and related concerts. This is a full-time position.

If interested, send three writing clips, a cover letter and resume to Callie Enlow, No phone calls.
