Two of Austin’s finest under-the-radar psychedelic rock acts are coming to town for a searing séance of a show this Saturday. Naga Brujo, for starters, is a four-piece that boasts an expansive psychedelic purview, spanning the full range of psych-rock niches from yelping and stomping freakouts to plodding breakdowns, from meandering and groovy grooves to droning moments of serenity. Dayeater, for its part, is a three-piece with a tighter focus. Dayeater’s sound, as you can dig for yourself at dayeater.bandcamp.com, is fast, frantic and fuzzy — and even a little bit funky. The band plays loud and loose, and its punk intensity makes it a welcome outlier in the dream/haze-dominated, contemporary psych-rock milieu.
