Melodic, piano-driven adult contemporary pop may not be the edgiest genre we’ve ever written about, but it’s undeniable that Nashville’s Ben Rector can sang.

No, not sing, sang. Like the dude’s got some soul that you can’t just learn. It’s a real gift and Rector channels it into his music that easily could show up on a Disney movie or feel good documentary about overcoming hardship – I don’t know, you’ll get what I’m saying at first listen to any of his catalog.

On tour in support of his latest record Magic, Rector is easily becoming a leader in his genre.

$29-$44, Sat April 6, 7pm, Aztec Theatre, 104 N. St. Mary’s St., theaztectheatre.com.
