New San Antonio-Area Corn Maze Takes the Form of a Dia de los Muertos Sugar Skull

Here's something for the "Say, That's Fairly Bad-Ass" file.

Circle N Farms of La Vernia has unveiled its latest corn maze — a tribute to Mexico's Dia de los Muertos and sugar skull traditions.

As many of us in South Texas know, families who celebrate Dia de los Muertos visit their ancestors' gravesites on Oct. 31 to offer gifts such as intricately decorated candy skulls. The holiday is followed by All Saint’s Day and All Soul’s Day. 

This fall's Circle N Maze opens Friday, October 5, and will run through Sunday, October 28. It includes three miles of trails plus a smaller maze for the kids.

The folks at Circle N are no stranger to clever corn cutting. Last year's maze featured the words "Texas Strong" inside the shape of the Lone Star State and raised money for Hurricane Harvey relief.

Fans of irony take note: The Circle N Dairy was once operated by the appropriately named Ross and Mary Scull, according to the farm's website. We kid you not.
