A Season for Nonviolence Local Task Force Leader Dana Clark is organizing a 100-voice Peace Choir to sing at the final event of this year’s SNV, to take place at the peaceCENTER, 1443 S. St. Mary’s, April 1. Proceeds from the concert will benefit Alamo Children’s Advocacy Center. Those who wish to participate in the concert don’t need to be able to read music, and only need to attend one of the rehearsals taking place around the city. Singers can “pre-rehearse” by going to songsofpeace.org and listening to the first two minutes of each song that will be performed in concert. You can join the Peace Choir by contacting email@example.com .
The fossil record vs. the Bible
An evolution vs. creationism debate will be held at the UTSA Convocation Center March 30. The UTSA Campus Crusade for Christ and other religious and scientific groups at the university are organizing the debate to explore evidence on both sides of the issue. Chemist John Pendleton and Dr. James M. Bower are already signed on to participate in the debate, but debate organizers are seeking more professors and scientists to argue for either position. The winning debate team will receive a $2,000 prize. Info: creationandevolutiondebate.com.
