This weekend, Palo Alto College will host its first-ever TEDxPaloAltoCollege event, bringing together a diverse lineup of 14 distinguished speakers from San Antonio, the U.S. and beyond. Like all TEDx happenings, Palo Alto’s entry is imbued with “the spirit of TED’s mission of ideas worth spreading” in hopes of discovering ideas and sparking conversations in our community.

Slated to speak at this inaugural event are City Councilman Rey Saldaña, Brazilian game developer Ana Ribeiro, Southwest School of Art Printmaking Chair Margaret Craig, local chef/entrepreneur Mike Behrend of Green Vegetarian Cuisine, Cali-based grief expert Sharon Brubaker, and more. Presenters will hold the floor for 10 to 18 minutes and each has planned their talk around the loose theme of “Break Through ________.”

TEDxPaloAltoCollege will also offer plenty of opportunities for attendees to network and discuss some of the important topics touched on in the talks.

$15-$30, Sat Sept 15, 8am-3pm, Palo Alto College Performing Arts Center, 1400 W. Villaret Blvd., (210) 486-3000, tedxpaloaltocollege.org.
