Hey, bu-ddy. Best known for his lowbrow comedies in the 1990s like Encino Man, Son in Law and Bio-Dome, actor and comedian Pauly Shore has been focused more on his stand-up career in recent years. It makes perfect sense since his mother Mitzi Shore, who passed away this past April at the age of 87, was the owner and co-founder of Los Angeles’ legendary Comedy Store, a comedy club that fostered up-and-coming stand-ups of the era, including Robin Williams, Richard Pryor and Jim Carrey. Shore, who created the alter ego known as “The Weasel,” was mentored in his early years by late stand-up Sam Kinison. Along with some early success in Hollywood, he landed a gig as an MTV VJ and hosted his own show Totally Pauly. Earlier this year, Shore made a cameo as himself in the first season of the Freeform (formerly ABC Family) comedy series Alone Together. Now 50, Shore, who hosts his own podcast Pauly Shore’s Random Rants, admits he’s not “wheezin’ the juice anymore,” he’s “wheezin’ the prune juice!”
