Pet Pawchanga

Critic's Pick Release Date: 2010-10-20
In celebration of National Pit Bull Awareness Day, San Antonio Big Dawgs partners with Bully Breeds Need Love and Talk About It (a bilingual campaign with the motto, “Care, Adopt, Neuter”) and other animal welfare organizations to present SA’s first Pet Pawchanga. Designed to raise positive awareness about Pit Bull Terriers (easily the most controversial and misunderstood breed), this event provides valuable resources (vets, trainers, and animal behaviorists will be on hand to answer questions) as well as pet-centric family-friendly fun (sled races, pet costume contest, canine carnival, Smart Pet/Stupid Human contest, and live music by Patsy Torres, Mariachi Las Coronelas, La Venganza, and Stephen Daniel). It’s not just for Pit Bulls — all leashed and vaccinated dogs are welcome to attend the Pet Pawchanga. Free, 11am-4pm, Mateo Camargo Park, 5700 US 90 W,
