Pick of the Day: Boyfrndz

Scott Martin, Joseph Raines, and Aaron Perez call Austin home, and they sound like it:  the swirling, tense washes of guitar and crashing polyrhythmic drums on their upcoming album, All Day Pass (out Sep. 11 digitally and Sep. 25 on CD/vinyl), have the indie-rock goods often on display in the beer halls and bars of our state capitol. But the three grew up right here, and some parts of their musical attack — particularly in the sinister roll of the rhythm section — are puro San Antonio. All Day Pass is tightly recorded and performed with an ease belying the short duration of the group. If their live show proves as effective as their recorded work, Boyfrndz are going places, and we don’t just mean back up the I-35. Also on the bill: Feuding Fathers, Tetra, Killer Kill, and Cure for the Radio. $6; 9pm Sat, Sep 15; The Ten Eleven, 1011 Avenue B, (210) 320-9080, Check out our full online calendar of upcoming events here:
