PRCA Rodeo with Cole Swindell

When: Wed., Feb. 18, 7 p.m. 2015

One of five new performers during this year’s San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, CMA Awards’ New Artist of the Year, Cole Swindell, will perform on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015. Rarely will you see this artist without his signature ball cap on, so make sure you’re rocking your fave baseball hat and get ready to groove to hits from his debut album like “Chillin’ It,” “Hope You Get Lonely Tonight,” “Ain’t Worth The Whiskey” and “A Dozen Rose and a Six-Pack.” (Do you know how PRCA rodeo began? Many believe that rodeo started as a little friendly competition between neighboring ranch hands to see who could finish daily tasks as quickly and efficiently as possible. Now, it’s grown into “America’s sport.” From roughstock (bareback, saddle bronc and bull riding) to timed events (steer wrestling, team roping, tie-down roping, and barrel racing), the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) is the oldest and largest rodeo-sanctioning body in the world. The rodeo lasts just over 2 hours. After the last bull is bucked, there is a brief intermission (20 minutes) followed by the entertainment. The concert lasts between 1-1 ½ hours.)
