PRCA Rodeo with Eli Young Band

When: Fri., Feb. 20, 7:30 p.m. 2015

The Eli Young Band is one of five new acts to perform during the 2015 San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo and this is definitely a concert you won’t want to miss. Mike Eli (vocals, guitar), James Young (guitar), Jon Jones (bass guitar) and Chris Thompson (drums) make up the brotherhood that began in packed clubs in Texas towns years ago. Now, with three number 1 hits, a Grammy nomination and an Academy of Country Music Award for Song of the Year, the Eli Young Band is at the top of their game. Listen up to hear some of your fave hits from the band such as, “Crazy Girl,” “Even If It Breaks Your Heart” and “Always the Love Songs.” (Do you know how PRCA rodeo began? Many believe that rodeo started as a little friendly competition between neighboring ranch hands to see who could finish daily tasks as quickly and efficiently as possible. Now, it’s grown into “America’s sport.” From roughstock (bareback, saddle bronc and bull riding) to timed events (steer wrestling, team roping, tie-down roping, and barrel racing), the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) is the oldest and largest rodeo-sanctioning body in the world. The rodeo lasts just over 2 hours. After the last bull is bucked, there is a brief intermission (20 minutes) followed by the entertainment. The concert lasts between 1-1 ½ hours.)
