Puerto Rican Cooking Class

When: Sat., March 2, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. 2019

For the Raindrop Turkish House's next International cooking class, they are heading south to the island of Puerto Rico where the local cuisine consists of a unique blend of flavors influenced by indigenous Taino Indians, Spanish settlers & African cultures over the centuries. The teachers, Awilda I Ramos, MD and Ivette Rivera-Ortiz RN, from Puerto Rico and guest dessert cook Luis Ramos, will share their culture and cuisine with attendees. They’ve prepared a scrumptious menu consisting of pina coladas; boiled yucca with mojo (garlic sauce,) rice with pigeon peas, chicken Stew, Maduros, and flan.
