Puerto Rican Grub Express Is Opening a Cafe

Say yes to more tostones, more lechon, more arroz con gandules. Puerto Rican Grub Express will open a brick-and-mortar location later this fall off Rittiman.

Owner and chef Pablo Curbelo, who managed catering and hospital kitchens for more than 25 years total will be opening up a location at 4413 Rittiman with an expanded menu and, naturally, more seating. The restaurant should be able to hold 60 diners, and will feature different stations including soups, salads, sandwiches, a cold seafood station, juice and coffee, and desserts.

A line of frozen products will be available for purchase, and a pick-up window will be available for folks looking to grab a quick lunch. The 1,600 square foot space is undergoing a remodel with new floors and a more rustic feel made to resemble the Puerto Rican countryside with loads of plants and explored wood.

Puerto Rican Grub Express opened in July 2015 with a menu of tostones, mofongos and carne fritas and has been rolling the greater part of SA and Cibolo for the last two years. The new location will also be joined by a trailer that will also serve Puerto Rican fare.

4413 Rittiman Road.
