When: Sat., Aug. 26, 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
The Rhythm Bones Society has chosen San Antonio for its annual gathering of musicians. As part of their reunion, the group will make a stop at the UTSA Institute of Texan Cultures to play some music and "rattle the bones." Often made from cow rib or a variety of hard woods, the bones produce a distinct, rhythmic click comparable to a castanet or tap shoe. The instruments are often found in bluegrass and folk music, usually accompanying the banjo and mandolin.
