When: Sun., Dec. 31, 8:30 p.m. 2017
I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say that psychobilly, with its trashy overtones of testosterone-pumping madness and its dystopian undertones of country-Western noir, is a genre that seems an apt anachronism for describing 2017 in the United States. As such, why not close out the year with a heavy dose of the devil’s swing? You’ll have the opportunity to do just that, with Texas-boy and hillbilly hellhound Reverend Horton Heat bringing his posse to town on the final day of the year. The band, noted far and wide for its high-octane fusion of country, blues, rock, swing, surf, and punk, will be joined for this special New Year’s Eve bill by two other acts that sound like they should be in Quentin Tarantino movies: Jesse Dayton and Two Tons of Steel.
