B. Dolan and Sage Francis, two indie rap stalwarts who have been repping their shared hometown of Providence, Rhode Island, since the 1990s, listen to their fans. Case in point: after numerous online campaigns and fan suggestions, the two, who have frequently worked together and who both make music for Francis’ Strange Famous Records, have decided to join forces under the tongue-in-cheek moniker Epic Beard Men (a riff on the two emcees’ prominent facial feature).

After a Christmas-time single and a fuckin’ dope debut album (Season 1) that dropped in March, it’s clear that this partnership is no joke. Each of these rappers can hold his own with anyone, but together they are a true force to be reckoned with.

Locals Ghost Palace and Chris Conde (full disclosure: he writes for the Current when he’s not spitting bars) will open.

$15, Fri April 27, 7pm, Paper Tiger, 2410 N. St. Mary’s St., papertigersatx.com.
