Former Texas Governor Rick Perry will appear on the next season of Dancing With the Stars.

Entertainment Tonight
reports that Perry will join the reality TV competition for its 23rd season, which premiers Monday, September 12 at 8 p.m. on ABC. On social media, Perry said he's dancing for veterans. "I’m dedicated to doing everything I can to help build awareness for improving the lives of our nation’s veterans, and I’m going to use Dancing with the Stars as a stage – literally and figuratively – to do that," Perry wrote on Facebook this morning. "I’m excited to have some fun, dance, and probably get into the best shape I’ve been since I served in the Air Force."

Perry joins a cast that features Vanilla Ice, retired football star Calvin Johnson, race car driver James Hinchcliffe, Brady Bunch star Maureen McCormick and the Olympic swimmer who didn't get robbed in Rio, Ryan Lochte.
