For the Department for Culture & Creative Development's 2013 Neighborhood Film Contest, graphic and visual artist Robert Gonzales submitted West of Downtown, a vibrant look at some of his favorite art on the West Side. Like Toy Story for the West Side's commercial art, Gonzales brings colorful ice houses, auto shops and barrio murals to life with his stop-motion animation.

Though it won Best in Show in the tourney, I thought we'd re-feature it here as a friendly challenge to this year's contendors. Registration closed on April 1st and screenings begin sometime in June. Let the visual games begin!
