Roots of Change's 'People's Market' provides chance to vote with your wallet

Mark your calendars for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday, August 6. Here’s your chance to support the San Antonio community, vote with your wallet, and discover unique goods, handcrafted and grown by your neighbors. The Roots of Change Urban Garden and Co-op is hosting a People’s Market at 1416 East Commerce, showcasing local and some organic vendors and their artisan crafts, foods, plants, fresh produce, clothes, and skin and beauty products. Admission is free and there’s sure to be lots of music, people, good energy, and ways to cool off and beat the summer heat. Started in May, the People’s Market is slated to be held the first Saturday of every month. The market is ever-growing so there will always be new and interesting homegrown goods for sale (or swap) each month. See the Roots of Change Facebook page for more information and for vendor registration.   Liz Schau is a Certified Holistic Health Counselor who specializes in nutritional changes for women with thyroid disease, food allergies, autoimmunity, and digestive health concerns.
