Launched last year by the creative minds behind CHIFLADAzine, La Liga Zine, St. Sucia and Yes Ma’am, the San Anto Zine Fest aims to organize and uplift the Alamo City’s burgeoning zine community while welcoming like-minded DIY publications from across the U.S. For its second edition, SAZF has partnered with the San Antonio Public Library and its onsite Latino Collection and Resource Center for a free, kid-friendly event uniting more than 60 niche publishers, artists and organizations — La Horchata Zine, Blacksheep Binding, Raspa Magazine, Monkeywrench Books, Colectiva Cósmica, Derelict Ink, and Jotería Cientifica Zine among them. And it’s not just zines: the second annual affair showcases “self-published work of all genres, including: comics, poetry, nonfiction, personal stories, anthologies, photography, art and much more.”
