San Antonio AIDS Foundation 20th Anniversary Walk For Life

Critic's Pick Release Date: 2010-09-22

The Walk for Life plays an integral role in the San Antonio AIDS Foundation’s efforts to provide medical care and social services for people living with HIV/AIDS. Considering that SAAF’s education programs and free testing help prevent the spread of HIV, joining the 20th Annual Walk for Life (you can run, too, if you like) gets our vote for the coolest way to spend Saturday morning. Fundraising powerhouse (and DJ) Crystal Stone emcees this family- and pet-friendly celebration of life, which includes performances by Laura Marie, Kim DuQue, and the Hot Hoopers, and plenty of activities to occupy the kiddos (moon bounce, rock wall, and face painting). Walker registration fee: $50 (participants are also encouraged to raise a minimum of $50 in pledges), 8:30-11:30am (registration at 8:30am, walk begins at 9:30am), Woodlawn Lake Park, 2100 block of Woodlawn Ave., (210) 225-4715,
