San Antonio Film Receives Grant From Sundance Institute

Out of 772 submissions, 29 films were selected to receive $550,000 in grant money from Sundance Institute's Documentary Film Program and Fund (DFP). Of these 29 films, one story took place in San Antonio.

Directed by Deborah S. Esquenazi, Southwest of Salem: The Story of the San Antonio Four tells a story of four Chicana lesbians accused and found guilty of sexually assault against two girls. However due to recent findings, advocates and attorneys have come to believe that the women may have been falsely convicted due to a suitor's revenge and homophobia.
