San Antonio Indie Book Fest

When: Sat., July 16, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. 2016

In its second year, San Antonio Indie Book Fest relocates from Wonderland of the Americas to Southtown arts nonprofit SAY Sí for a day of readings, signings, sales and family activities. Designed to support both local talent and literacy, the free, one-day event unites more than 40 authors working in an array of genres (including sci-fi, fantasy, historical nonfiction, mystery, YA, steampunk and erotic romance). Standing out among the highlights are Todd Campau (whose Ridiculosity puts an M.A.S.H.-like spin on his own deployment in Afghanistan), Tony Burnett (a poet and songwriter promoting the short story collection Southern Gentlemen), Clark Gray (biographer of early 20th-century trick roper and vaudevillian Bee Ho Gray) and the Texas Association of Authors (an organization representing 100-plus authors in the Lone Star State).
