A local man didn't let the fact that he was shot in the face stop him from driving himself to the hospital on Sunday night.

San Antonio police said a man and a woman were pulled over on Fitch Avenue on the city's South Side around 11 p.m. on Sunday when a suspect approached the pair and shot at them. The man was hit in the face and hand, though he managed to drive himself to Southwest General Hospital, also on the South Side.

Once the shooting victim arrived at the hospital, he was transferred to San Antonio Military Medical Center for treatment.

According to police, the suspect fled the scene and has not yet been apprehended.
