- San Antonio Democratic Rep. Joaquin Castro says he "absolutely" believes Roger Stone perjured himself.
"I'll tell you right now that Roger Stone, I'm almost certain, will be prosecuted for lying to the House Intelligence Committee," Castro said. "In the same sitting, he first said to Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell that he had no advance knowledge of the email dumps, and then when I followed up a few hours later, he admitted that he did."
(If you're watching the video, Castro drops in around the 14-minute mark.)
Stone, you may remember, was one of the Trump cronies who testified in front of the Intelligence Committee over the campaign's alleged collusion with Russia. Special counsel Robert Mueller is set to file new disclosures Friday in cases involving two of President Trump's former associates, Paul Manafort and Michael Cohen.
In the MSNBC video, host Ari Melber tells Castro he's never heard him go so far in predicting what sort of legal jeopardy Stone might be in. But the congressman sticks to his guns, responding that he "absolutely" believes Stone perjured himself during the hearing.
"If there is nothing else to charge Roger Stone with, he certainly lied to our committee," Castro said.
