When the Trail Blazers trounced the Spurs in Portland earlier this season, Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum combined for 53 points and 11 assists in triumph. San Antonio’s DeMar DeRozan and Bryn Forbes were no slouches in defeat, teaming up for 45 and 12 assists of their own.

With Coach Pop recently favoring DeRozan and Forbes as his starting backcourt, after a brief stint with Derrick White at the helm, the resilient duo gets another crack at Portland’s gifted guards on Sunday night.

Averaging career highs in points and assists, Forbes has been a silver lining for the Spurs this season. A threat from the arc anytime he takes the court, Forbes flows with the first unit, allowing space for DeRozan to flourish as a playmaker. Containing Lillard and McCollum though, will require a team effort.
