Prolific producer of TV hash and campy horror movies Roger Corman helmed this late '50s flick about a nerd who finds social redemption through dead bodies and sculpture. Think House of Wax meets Plaster of Paris.

A 10,000 peso reward sends journalists scrambling for the best story of New Year's Eve in this highly rated film, which stars Arturo de Córdova and Miguel Ángel Ferriz. The screening begins at 4 p.m. Sunday, October 16, at the Instituto de México, 600 Hemisfair Park. $2.


Anime Summit

San Antonio-based Antartic Press is hosting a 12-hour anime festival on four screens Saturday, October 15, from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Classics such as Ghost in the Shell will be interspersed with premieres and new releases, including the live-action Gigantor and Street Fighter Alpha: Generations OAV. Regional premiere of Texas tale

The Separated

Painter Sky Patterson and several other Texans star in this 1850s tale of two brothers separated after a raid on their family farm - one is rescued by Texas Rangers, the other is adopted by a Comanche tribe. Inspired by true events, The Separated was filmed on the Enchanted Springs Ranch near Boerne. The film premieres at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 15, at the Stagecoach Theater in Fredericksburg.
