The low-down on this week's premieres - 'Cinderella Man, Sisterhood, Lords of Dogtown, Head-On'

Sans the evil stepsisters, glass slipper, and Prince Charming, Cinderella Man is a fairytale-like story all its own. During the Great Depression, boxer Jim Braddock (Russell Crowe) is given another chance to reclaim the premier status he once possessed in the squared circle `See this week's review`. For the second time, Academy Award-winners Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind) and Crowe partner, this time lacing up their gloves for some more knockout drama alongside Academy Award-winner Renée Zellweger (Chicago) and Paul Giamatti (American Splendor). Too bad there isn't a tubby character named Gus Gus in this one.

In The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (slightly more tolerable as a title than The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood)four teenage best friends stay emotionally connected over a long summer apart by sharing a pair of jeans that miraculously fits all of them perfectly `See this week's review`. Along the way, the foursome learn about relationships, death, the importance of family, and themselves as they transform into young women. The film stars Amber Tamblyn (TV's Joan of Arcadia), Alexis Bledel (TV's Gilmore Girls), America Ferrera (Real Women Have Curves), and Blake Lively (Sandman) as the girls who ask, "How does my ass look in these?"

For those of you who know the difference between a switch ollie and a fake ollie, The Lords of Dogtown might be something to do a tre-flip over. The based-on-a-true-story flick follows a group of kids in the '70s who turn sidewalk surfing into an art form. Set in Venice, California, Lords stars Emile Hirsch (The Girl Next Door) and Victor Rasuk (Raising Victor Vargas).

Straight from Germany, Head-On or Gegen die Wand, introduces us to two suicidal Turks who meet in a hospital after attempting to kill themselves and decide to get married `See this week's review`. We're sure the couple registered for steak knives at Target.
