The low-down on this week's premieres
Jessica Alba (Sin City) and Paul Walker (Joy Ride) go deep-sea diving for buried treasure in Into the Blue and instead come up for air with a cargo of cocaine owned by irate drug lords. Those baggies better be tied tight or all sea life around the Bahamas will be referred to as blow fish.
Adapted from the 2002 television show Firefly, which was cancelled after one season, Serenity follows a captain and his crew as they travel the galaxy 500 years in the future.
They're making a movie about Uno? Oh, nevermind. The Greatest Game Ever Played is a tribute to golf in the early 20th century. It's based on the true underdog story of the 1913 U.S. Open, when 20-year-old Francis Ouimet (Shia LaBeouf), a caddy from Scotland, did the unthinkable and beat the defending champion.
Set to open exclusively at Regal Fiesta 16 is The Memory of a Killer. The film tells the story of an international hit man, who, after having a change of heart, searches for the person who hired him to kill a 12-year-old girl. The twist: The assassin suffers from Alzheimer's.
Jennifer Lopez (Shall We Dance?) in An Unfinished Life, stars as a woman escaping from an abusive relationship to live with her estranged father-in-law (Robert Redford), who blames her for his son's death.
Plus, France's Á tout de suite should be exclusive to the Bijou (although we've been teased before). It's about an art student who falls in love with a bank robber.
Local premiere dates for limited-release films are tentative and can change at the last minute. Please check your local theater listings to confirm showtimes.
