If you’d prefer something more uplifting than Tippi Hedren getting pecked to death, try “Hope,” a 5-minute love letter to Barack Obama’s politics of change by local filmmaker Will Shipley, viewable online at 1308films.com. And speaking of hope, the Esperanza Center (922 San Pedro, esperanzacenter.org) will screen the less optimistically titled Sylvia Morales documentary A Crushing Love, 6:30 p.m. Saturday, October 25. Suggested donation is $5.
If you’re interested in making your own movie, the San Antonio Film Forum (safilmforum.blogspot.com) meets 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 28, at the downtown branch of the San Antonio Public Library (600 Soledad). Admission is free.
