S'Nuff film

There’s a few horror films in theaters this Halloween, sure, but the smart money for a truly disturbing 2008 movie experience is probably on Hustler’s new Sarah Palin-fetishizing porn flick Nailin’ Paylin. Those who deny sexism in politics should try to imagine the release of a Gerald Ford-themed pornographic movie. Blarrrgghh.

Sorry. If it’s any consolation, Paylin does not appear to feature a John McCain look-alike.

Let me make amends by telling you about some of the cool horror film screenings happening this week. Central Library (600 Soledad will host a showing of zombie-comedy masterpiece Shaun of the Dead, 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 29. And Slab Cinema continues their outdoor screening series with a double feature of Attack of the 50-Foot Woman and Nosferatu beginning 7:30 pm Thursday, October 30, at HemisFair Park (200 S. Alamo).

And if you resented that poke at Palin in the first paragraph, chances are good you’d be most frightened this Halloween of the boys in fishnets and eyeliner at the two-night screening of Rocky Horror Picture Show — 10:30 p.m. Thursday, October 30, and 10 p.m. Friday October 31 at Alamo Drafthouse Westlakes (1255 SW Loop 410). Tickets are $8.50, sluts and assholes.
