S'nuff Film

I hate to put a damper on our College Guide, but this weekend is not the time to engage in any underage drinking, premarital sex, or illicit drug use. None other than Michael Myers, Leatherface, and Jason mofo’ing Voorhees are coming to town for the second annual Horrific Film Fest, and you do not want to piss them off. The fright-flick festival, featuring appearances by Bill Johnson (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2), Ari Lehman (Friday the 13th), and Tony Moran (Halloween), begins 7 p.m. Thursday with a free-for-all “zombie walk” departing from Alamo Drafthouse Westlakes (1255 SW Loop 410). Arrive early and bring an insatiable lust for braaaaaaaaains. A rock concert ($3) follows at 8. Beginning Friday, horror films — a mix of indies like Bryan Ortiz’s Doctor S Battles the Sex Crazed Reefer Zombies and classics like Friday the 13th - screen from noon till midnight. Several filmmaking classes, including an acting lesson from Johnson (hopefully he’ll discuss emoting through latex and the finer points of chainsaw dueling), will also be offered. Admission for everything is $10 per day; see for a full schedule, and stay the hell out of Crystal Lake.
