There are lots of people in this world who will do anything to avoid going to the grocery store. And there are also lots of people in this would who would probably do anything to have the ability to go to the grocery store.

Where ever you fit on that spectrum, H-E-B made an exciting announcement today.

The grocer is partnering with two companies — Shipt and Instacart — to provide grocery delivery and personal shoppers to customers in San Antonio.

"H‑E‑B strives to provide customers not only with quality products at affordable prices, but also with innovative and convenient services," Greg Souquette, Senior Vice President and General Manager of San Antonio Operations at H‑E‑B, says in a press announcement. "Partnerships with companies like Shipt and Instacart allow us to offer a shopping experience to fit the needs of our customers looking for time‑saving solutions."

Both Instacart and Shipt are app-based companies that connect personal shoppers with consumers who — for whatever reason — can't get out to H-E-B.

Instacart expands its service into the Alamo City starting May 12 and Shipt follows suit, launching exclusively with H-E-B on May 25.

Customers who sign up for a Shipt annual membership before the May 25 launch will get $50 in grocery credit.
